Adventure Training

Adventure training with the Air Cadets is a great way of not only trying something new but also a great way to learn new skills including, leadership, teamwork and self sufficiency. Don't worry if you have never been camping or kayaking before, our trained adult staff members are on hand to give you the training you need to make the most of the activity you're taking part in.

As a cadet there are a variety of different adventure training activities you can try. Below is a list of the main activities offered by the Air Cadet Organisation:
- Hill Walking
- Kayaking and Canoeing
- White Water Rafting
- Rock Climbing and Abseiling
- Mountain Biking
- Downhill and Cross Country Skiing

Whilst most Squadrons can offer hill walking activities, more technical activities are supported by staff at Wing level or run from one of ACO's Adventure Training Centres in Windemere or Llanbedr in Wales. Cadets have the opportunity to visit these centres for up to a week and take part in a wide ranging programme of activities. These camps provide an excellent opportunity to meet other cadets who also have an interest in the outdoors.

The Air Cadet Organisation also offers its cadets the opportunity to take part in once in a lifetime experiences overseas. From completing project work in Tanzania to trekking to the base camp at Mount Everest, these are unique opportunities for our cadets. These camps are often run nationally so give you the opportunity to meet cadets from all over the UK.
